- Start with a practice exam. Do it untimed the first time so you can read the explanations as you go.
- Look at your scores. The AFQT is your headline number; the line scores decide which jobs open up.
- Find jobs that fit. The exam shows what you'd qualify for in each branch โ the Jobs page lists every job and its score minimums.
- Study the weak spots. Use the guide and the free resources in it to hit the subjects where you scored lowest.
- Retake it. Every test pulls fresh questions, so keep taking it until the scores climb.
Proud of you both for putting in the work. Whatever branch or job you're chasing โ this is how you get ready for it. โ Dad
Heads up: This is a study tool. The practice scores and job cutoffs are solid estimates for prep, not official results. Your real numbers come from the actual ASVAB, and your real options come from a recruiter.
